To
the Point: What's the Point to Straight Edge anyway?
Ok, so it's to better myself, then what?
Well look around, Maybe if everyone made a positive
change in themselves. Then just maybe, the World would
change along with them. For every person who makes a
positive change we are all one step closer to achieving
that "fairy-tale" society. Can you honestly look around
and think this how it's supposed to be, the Suffering,
the Crime, the Poverty, the Violence, etc... or think
that it isn't and be okay with it? It's so ignorant
to let things to be the way they are, we all have the
Responsibility to make Change, What's worse is that
we all do have the power to, so why not just do it?
It's safe to sit back and wait for someone else to do
it, but what happens when that's where everyone's heads
are at? Just waiting for a savior or something. We'll
be waiting a long time, but if there was that somebody
to come around one day, wouldn't they become discouraged
by seeing that nomatter what they do, it's all just
the same again. We are all the "Someones" who need to
be making things happen, cause if we don't who will?
The Following 4 reasons for straightedge,
are Actually the Four Diseases of all the cause
of the problems of life (Crime, Poverty, Suffering,
etc.) To kill out these 4 diseases of Violence,
Intoxication, Promiscuous Sex, and Gambling. Wash out
the Symptoms and The Disease will hopefully disappear.

1.
Meat Eating
Meat eating is totally unnecessary violence, not only
to animals slaughtered, but to the tons of plants needlessly
stuffed into the poor animals to fatten them up, to
the human beings who eat flesh at the risk of their
own health, and to the ecosystem of the entire planet
earth, who is forced to support this decadent "agriculture".
When you get angry and violent, you can't
see straight. Meat is the end product of violence. Eating
it clouds our mind and senses, impairing our ability
to perceive reality.
Besides that, as long as one chooses
to live by unnecessarily causing pain to other living
creatures, one will not be admitted into spiritual reality-
where life is full of selfless compassion.

2.
Intoxication
Relief. Yes, Relief... let me escape from this boring
sameness, this grinding gray monotony. I need some excitement,
some spice- I need some crack, some dope, some Booz....
O master, let me think I'm funny. Yeah, let me think
I'm sly, Yeah, let me think I'm strong or swift, let
me think I'm sexy.... And having a good time- Oh make
me think I'm having a good time. Genie in my bottle,
let me lie to myself.
Beyond that, when people abuse Alcohol or another intoxicants,
they use it as a scape got when they mess up, "thatt
wasn't me, i was drunk or i was doped up..."
I can totally relate to that whole situation,
we all know life is boring as hell, if not outright
painful. But your smack, crack, six-pack isn't but a
losers proposition for burying your head in the sand.
(no offense to losers)

Promiscuous Sex
"Magazines fill the aisles for hobbies, clothes and
styles, selling us more all the while Commercials
tell us what to acquire-planting seeds of desire
Pouring oil on the fire The consumer always pays the
fee with great hope and anxiety but he's always
left wanting more We're all hungry that's agreed but
we don't know what we need You see there's more than
just this body to feed, Advertisers create false necessities
Send us out on shopping sprees "One more thing, that's
all we'll need" Sex sells: billboards rely on
it any product with some woman trying it Are you laughing
or are you buying it? Here We Go Again Just see
he uses Love for Sex and sure she uses Sex for Love
And they're both hoping for the best, I also have that
dream you're thinking of, If we place a blindfold on
our eyes, iron and gold appears the same, Its intense
hope that makes us try, so we go on and play the game,
We love not wisely but too well...We're hoping (s)he
will be the one but we never learn from our mistakes,
And based on beauty love soon dies then we make our
move to separate, Yes iron and gold appears the same
but one is costly to obtain, and I'll be the one to
blame if I resist, "I know I'll gain"
So we went a head and did it come on, everyone
does, And you can't hold me responsible its just
part of love A mistake a miscalculation confirming statistics

guy Well the joy of sex and the freedom of fun but the
burden lies on you You're just a kid and crazy if you

Okay So Sex is a natural
thing huh? Since when was the last time you saw Condoms,
Jellies, Pills, etc growing on trees? Oh so you dont
catch a DISEASE, or get PREGNANT or have some other
"Natural" thing to happen to you right? I doesnt seem
like such a natural thing now huh?
Besides the fact the you could Dieor
ruin your life with disease or unprepared pregnancies.
Why else is promiscuous sex a no-no. What is Promiscuous
Sex to begin with? Basically it is sex out of Lust
and not Love... I could go into this a great
deal but, you can email us for more. anyway moving
on...
What is so bad with Promisuous Sex / sex out of lust?
Promiscuous Sex dominates the mind, distorts
the vision, and wastes all our energy in bodily pursuits.
for instance, a girl might spend hours doing her hair
putting on make up etc.... just trying to look like
the models in the magazines (a false image anyway).
all just to have people desire her. and then a guy
might work his ass off trying to buy the newst fastest
ride or practice his brains out to be a good guitarist.
all just to have people envy him. and why do they
do these things? Just to Get the Booty.
You might want to Say, you have sex out of
love. But is it real love, if it isnt a respectable
enough relationship where both couples are willing
to wait for it with the commitment of marriage. cause
lets say something does go wrong with the condom or
pills, isnt the child supposed to be a symbol of that
love you shared? or an Example of Accident?
Sex is a flash pan pleasure of the mind
and body. The spirit -self, the real receptacle of
pleasure, is beyond the body and the mind. If you
want access to that real you, you're going to have
to step over the life of Promiscuous Sex, which will
only nail you down deeper into illusionary identification
with the mind and body.

Gambling
You can't get something for nothing. gambling nourishes
the cheating mentality, giving birth to greed, selfishness,
and envy- which are diametrically opposed to spiritual
qualities that help us achieve an undistorted experience
of reality. Gambling is another tool of the Power man,
used to keep the popular docile. Another false hope
for happiness which occupies our time diverts us from
real personal and social advancement. |
